The
Silhouette Lift is a mid face lift that uses the new
Silhouette Sutures to lift sagging tissue in the
mid-face area and decrease jowling. A new, FDA approved
material, they are made of polypropylene strands and
clear, absorbable hollow cones that allow for tissue in
growth and durable anchoring. They are strong, and
because they are absorbable, concerns over visibility
and migration are minimized.
The best
candidate for the Silhouette Mid-Face Lift
If you are in your forties to
sixties, with obvious drooping of the mid-face soft
tissues and jowling, you will benefit from this lift.
As it is less invasive than a full facelift, there is
less downtime and no visible scars.
The procedure of a Silhouette Mid-Face Lift
Dr. Doolabh makes a small incision
in your temple area. The sutures are deployed into the
soft tissue of your cheek to exit near the junction of
your nose and mouth. They are then pulled backwards to
engage the cones into the tissues, thereby suspending
them into an elevated position. Each suture is secured
into the underlying tissue to provide a long lasting,
lifted appearance visible immediately!
After your Silhouette Mid-Face Lift
You may have slight bruising and
swelling after your procedure for the next few days.
Sometimes, wearing a facial sling is more comfortable.
You will be asked to lie on your back and avoid pressure
or movement over your face for the next two to three
weeks. The sutures in the hairline incisions can
usually be removed in ten days. Most patients are back
to work within a week of surgery.
