Brow lifts improve upon the appearance of full upper eyelids and are commonly completed in conjunction with eyelid lifts or blepharoplasty. Dr. Doolabh commonly performs Endoscopic brow lifts, which use small incisions behind the hair line. A tiny lighted scope and camera allow movement of instruments to lift up the tissue, and weaken the muscles that are responsible for drawing eyebrows downward. When brow lifts are completed in conjunction with upper eyelid lifts, the muscle steps can be completed through an incision that rests within your main upper eyelid crease. It is likely that you will be able to return to work within two weeks of the procedure. Botox® Cosmetic injections may be used to help further immobilize your eyebrows until your healing advances.
In order to correct the drooping of the outer brow line, Dr. Doolabh may recommend a lateral brow lift for you. This technique is also known as a temporal brow lift, and addresses sagging around the outside of the eyebrow almost exclusively. It can also produce an exotic look to the outer arch of the brow, and can relieve folds and small wrinkles in the outer forehead or upper eyelid sagging not relieved by a traditional eyelid lift. During a lateral brow lift, incisions are placed in the hairline at the temples towards the sides of the face. Unlike a traditional brow lift, a lateral brow lift will not raise the middle of your brow, but will somewhat alleviate the creasing at the outer corners of your eyes. You will enjoy a shorter healing time and early return to work one week after your procedure.
